Town of Culture Award

The 2019 Town of Culture Award was given to a town in the city-region, with outstanding cultural and creative offerings. The award was created to spotlight the remarkable art, culture and heritage that exists across Greater Manchester.

 L.G. Publicity produced a creative multimedia launch and announcement campaign, and led a small team through the event and press announcements.

This included: video interviews with the GMCA lead for culture and the Mayor of Greater Manchester which were released to media with an engaging press release, a Town of Culture social media campaign across a variety of GMCA accounts, Local Councils, and local stakeholders, managing an event for 150 people, photocall and expert panel debate about improving town centres - all held in the winning town (Bury).

The winner of Town of Culture was announced was by broadcaster Griff Rhys Jones OBE.

L.G.Publicity also produced and directed a promotional video about ‘Happiness’ in Bury, interviewed local business owners, residents and workers in the town about why they love living and working in Bury.

The video was played during the launch attended by 150 VIP’s, and received positive response from stakeholders, public, peers and press.
