The Hacienda’s birthday livestream was a culturally significant event for Greater Manchester. L.G Publicity project managed the partnership with StreamGM and The Hacienda to shine a light on the iconic club brand’s landmark, 40th anniversary.

L.G. Publicity also co-publicised the event with The Hacienda press team.

Eight Hacienda residents each played very different house music sets, which were also enjoyed by another 130,000 strong virtual audience, who watched the online.

L.G. Publicity and the StreamGM team ensured the high end production value broadcast was seamless, and gave viewers a real sense of the buzzing carpark atmosphere.

Coverage of the event was positive and plentiful too with features and interviews with various media outlets such as: BBC1 News, ITV Granada News, BBC6 Music, The Manchester Evening News, The Manc, Bauer Radio, Manchester Finest and a witty review by top culture and lifestyle blogger; Honorary Manc who declared: “The event and stream was a living, breathing, pulsating shrine to an era where a club could pull no profits yet still become part of the fabric, if not the fabric, of our wonderful wonderful city of Manchester.”

Around 65% of the online audience was U.K. based, and hoards of international party people tuned in from New Zealand, Mexico, America, Canada, Dubai, Germany, Spain, Japan, Singapore, Balkans, Brazil, France Italy, Switzerland, Portugal, Greece, Ireland and Jersey.
